Wood Farm self-catering cottages
are in the village of Edgefield, four miles south of the Georgian
town of Holt. Edgefield is a delightful rural Norfolk village
in the heart of the North Norfolk countryside making it an ideal
base for the coast and countryside holidays.
Wood Farm Cottages are located on
the edge of the village on a secluded five acre site surrounded
by fields and trees 300 yards from the nearest road, and approached
along a private driveway. They offer a wide range of modern facilities.
Wood Farm's self-catering accommodation
consists of eight cottages converted from traditional Norfolk
flint barns and stables incorporating many origingal features,
and sleep from 2 - 6 people
in one to three bedrooms.
Broadband WiFi accessible
from all cottages.

The village has a village shop,
garage and petrol station.
The
Pigs Freehouse pub which is only a ten minute
walk changed hands in November 2006 and has been extensively
refurbished. The pub offers a very warm welcome and excellent
food. Feedback from the guests has been very good. We have found
ourselves booking in regularly, the real ale is wonderful!
The farm itself is arable, growing sugar beet, wheat and barley.
Tractors can often be seen ploughing, drilling, fertilising
and rotavating. Combine harvesters are out in July and August,
sugar beet harvesters start in the late autumn. Owls nest in
one of the barns, and the farmland is home to deer which can
often be seen in the fields behind Chestnut and Elm. Other wildlife
regularly spotted in the surrounding fields are pheasants, rabbits
and even an occasional peacock (which can most definitely be
heard in the distance!).
